The Roaring Twenties
of Clara and Ottavio

TThese are the Twenties, years so full of life that you can easily lose control.

We are in 1921.

It’s the explosion of cinema, literature, music… from the America of jazz and F. Scott Fitzgerald to the Europe of Marcel Proust, to the surrealism of Breton, to Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

In Canelli, in the province of Asti, Piedmont, the midday sun dominates the vineyards.

It’s right here that, among grapes and lush landscapes, a story made of bubbles comes to life, becoming a trend so strong and unstoppable that it will slowly conquer the entire world.

The love between
Clara and Ottavio
Riccadonna
is the powerful trigger
of a dream.

With their firm, far-sighted, passionate looks, they decide to innovate the Italian spumante culture.

Ottavio is pushed by a strong passion and competence. Clara attended the prestigious Oenology School of Alba, travelled with her father to South America, and perfectly knows the perimeter of the new markets, in addition to being great at accounting. Together with her husband, she shortly becomes the perfect leader of a company poised to grow.

Yes, together.

Because together they have the boldness, audacity, perseverance, and desire to show the whole world a product that is the very essence of being together, the art of celebrating the small, happy moments in life with a nice glass of spumante.

The year 1930 sees the expansion
of the Riccadonna brand.

The couple seems to have magic hands, skills beyond expectations and a boundless passion for their creations.

But as everybody knows, success is not an armchair for resting, but a starting block for sprinters, a constant search for the best. If artists do not adapt themselves, the art of winemaking can’t make a difference.

Under the strong impulse of Clara, Riccadonna becomes a symbol of celebration around the world. In the Fifties, “Oggi è festa/Today is celebration” is much more than a slogan: it’s the very essence of their company.

The Riccadonnas are a couple that starts with an advantage: they love their jobs just like they love life. The spirit of the Roaring Twenties continues to light up their eyes, even in the following decades, accompanying them along their path and all around the globe.

Ottavio and Clara dive into their jobs with enthusiasm and passion, always aware of what they have built and in the belief that, while the past is unrepeatable, the future is still there to be built.

However, the future can be better appreciated if you look at it from several windows: this is why Clara and Ottavio conquer several privileged observation points to study the world. They get to Argentina, Australia, New Zealand. In the Sixties there is no ocean to keep them away from success.

Together, Ottavio and Clara shine without needing to display gestures of triumph or show off achievements, still enraptured by the boundless beauty of life. Their story is a story of devotion, incessant work and constant innovation. A life that deserves to be lived and celebrated every day.

Clara and Ottavio Riccadonna
are the emblem
of this joy of living.
It’s been like that
for 100 years.

While happiness lies in small things, there isn’t a more intense moment than a knowing look between two people who love each other and decide to start from a glass of bubbles to get to the top of the biggest bubble of all: the world.

In the Riccadonna family, the spirit is still the same: big ideas, great devotion, and the desire to make a product that goes well beyond the memory of what it has been to project itself in a future where there’s something to celebrate, every day.
